Judge Orders Quicken and DOJ/ HUD to Mediation

By | April 10, 2019

Going on  over three years now, the  law suit between the Department of Justice and HUD against Quicken Loans was ordered to mediation to settle prior to the upcoming trial start date. The allegation that is the center of the lawsuit,  concerns  loans Quicken submitted to FHA that  did not comply with HUD/ FHA requirements. Dan Gilbert has previously stated he will not settle the case and will fight to “vindicate Quicken Loans. ”

U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith said in an order dated April 5,  the parties should attempt to resolve the case before the period when “intense trial preparation” will begin. “The decision makers must attend mediation, not just the attorneys.”  See the  Detroit Free Press article on the order here.
